Million Dollar Goals, Minimum Wage Work Ethic

March 30, 2018

Does your work ethic have you on track to reach your big goals?

According to the poll I did, for 35% of you (I'd say its more), the answer is no.

Your mindset has a lot to do with that. The mind is a very powerful tool when you have it set the right way.

The company you choose to surround yourself with is also a big deciding factor in your ability to reach goals.

I'll give you 3 steps in this episode that will help keep you on track for success.

Jonathan Willis - Farm Fresh Fast

Jonathan Willis - Farm Fresh Fast

March 9, 2018

I honestly could have talked to Jonathan all day, we kinda did that.

This was only my second time speaking with him and our first time actually meeting. When you spend 3 hours straight talking to someone, completely uninterrupted at that, you really get to know them. What I found out is that Jonathan is a solid human being. You'll be able to pick up a lot of the cues I did when you listen to this episode. I'm honestly not sure if he's 100% aware of how selfless a lot of the things he is doing are.

I've eaten at his restaurant and it absolutely lives up to the hype surrounding it. We talked in great detail about sourcing food, operating a business, staying motivated, fitness, supplements, other podcasts we enjoy. Man you cover a LOT of ground in a 3 hour window. I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did.

If you'd like to learn more about his restaurant you can find it here. eatfarmfreshfast.com

Improving your Instagram

February 26, 2018

In this episode I cover a lot of things you can do to help increase engagement and attract followers on Instagram.

Instagram is the current King of the social media world. At a time where a lot of people are looking to either start a business or brand themselves, social media is a critical tool. It's easier than ever to promote things thanks to social media. However it's very important to do it right. This guide will help you master the basics of that. This will maximize the time you spend on social media as well as your effectiveness in reaching your target audience.

You Are The One Who's In Charge

You Are The One Who's In Charge

February 15, 2018

Short and Direct.

You are the mother fucker in charge. Not your job, your boss, your partner, your parents, or anyone else. Also not the shit that has happened to you.

Moral of the rant. Stop saying "one day". Stop saying "I don't want to go to work today". Stop buying shit you can't afford. Stop doing all the shit that sucks the life out of you.  Stop waiting on retirement. Start living YOUR life for YOU!

Worry About Yourself

February 1, 2018

This was more of a short rant about how to focus on yourself. Taking into consideration other peoples life experiences.  Not to worry about having different beliefs than family and friends. And how to interpret others talking about you.

Brionna Morse

Brionna Morse

January 28, 2018

In this episode I talk with, Brionna Morse, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Before recording, I posted to social media and had people submit questions they would like to ask a therapist. I got a lot of good ones, but for time sake, we weren't able to do them all. I plan to have her on often, so feel free to keep submitting them to contact@theselfmadepodcast.com.

We covered a lot of good topics including:

  • How to handle finding things on your children's devices
  • Significant others going through your phone
  • Co-parenting a non biological child
  • Adding your children on social media
  • Not feeling love from your spouse
  • Living at home at an older age
  • Being trapped in an unfulfilling life

We received many great questions, thank you. Please keep in mind that we didn't have all the information a therapist may need to really get to the root of the problem. IF you'd like more information or would like to work with Brionna, you can connect with her through her website, http://brionnamorse.com. Brionna is also on Instagram sharing educational and informational post @brionna_morse

Jessica Patterson

Jessica Patterson

January 24, 2018

In this episode I talk with motocross legend, Jessica Patterson. Jessica is one of the most successful and decorated athletes in the sport. After winning more than 42 amateur championships, Patterson turned professional in 2000 and would go onto win seven Women’s Motocross (WMX) National Championships.

We talk about how she got her started. Turning Pro. Factors that contributed to her dominating the sport. So dominate in fact that she was expected to win anytime she raced. She "retired" from the sport in her early 30's but is still very active and gives back a ton of her time and knowledge.

Life after racing involves more racing for Jessica, just in a much different seat. She and her husband, Eddie Ray, own and operate Travelers Rest Motorsports Park in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. A business neither of them knew anything about but have jumped into head first. She admits she still has a lot to learn but says that things couldn't be better.

You can find more info on Jessica and Travelers Rest Motorsports Park on the links below.

Blake Grice

January 9, 2018

In this episode I talk with my good friend, Blake Grice. Blake is the Owner/Head Coach at Electric City Mixed Martial Arts in Anderson, SC. He is a MMA referee who has worked with many organizations including the UFC, Bellator, Desert Force, and Phoenix Fighting Championship.

I wanted to have Blake on to tell his story about how he ended up leaving a "dream job" to pursue his passion for MMA. How it wasn't always easy financially, especially in the early days. Blake took a chance even when some of the people closest to him told him it wasn't going to work.

He proved them wrong in a really big way. He did so by following the two biggest rules for success which are putting in the work and not quitting.

It's a great story and I hope you guys enjoy it.

If you are in the area or ever passing through I highly encourage you to check out his gym. They have an incredible facility and top level instructors. More information about the gym can be found on their website. https://www.electriccitymixedmartialarts.com
